Thursday Again

Hi everyone,
Well it is Thursday at The GPS Store and we are really busy today in the showroom and on the phones. I am the old man here are I just want to say that I am always impressed with the work ethic of the young people who work here, from the warehouse and shipping, to the sales staff and to management everyone is always willing to help another co-worker to make our customer service top notch. Well boating season is now in full swing across the U.S. and even Canada and we are doing our best to stock what our customers want and need, so give us a try, we will do our best to EARN your business. If you haven’t seen the Garmin Facebook page for their fishing and hunting products take a look they explain the newest technology and how it is used, and of course we offer all of it.

Back Again

Good Morning,
I hope everyone had a great and safe holiday. If you haven’t noticed it we have a section on our website for Specials Deals and Closeouts where you can always find bargains and maybe something you are looking for. The unofficial beginning of summer certainly came in with great weather for the holiday here in southern North Carolina, it has been just beautiful, and looks like it is going to be at least until the weekend. Well Fathers Day is right around the corner so stay tuned for the deals we will be offering for him. Those of you who are receiving our emails look for these specials the closer we get to the day.

Great Day

Good Morning,
Great weather when I took the dog out at 5:00 Sun coming up and 71′, just right. Well we are looking forward to a very busy weekend with the unofficial start of summer, Memorial Day. We have Bikefest going on and plenty of activities at the various veterans posts. Just remember to check out our safety products for what you need on the water. I hope everyone has a safe weekend and gets back on Tuesday without incident. To all you veterans out there: Thank-You for your service to our country.memorialday

Hi Everyone

Well we are mid-week,
I failed to let everyone know that it is National Safe Boating Week so please be sure to check your safety devices on the boat, life vests, flairs, strobe lights, epirb, or personal locator beacons and make sure they are up to date and in good working order. Coincidently we are running a sale on these items so it is a good time to look at replacing what needs to be taken care of. Well not much else at our store for today other than our Navico Rep was in to let us know about what they have coming down the road. I hope everyone is gearing up for a safe and happy Memorial Day Weekend, it means a lot to me being a veteran and the son of a WW II veteran and I know it does for Tom Heffernan our Scott’s Dad. You still have time to get whatever you need in the area of GPS or mapping for travels on the holiday.

We are Back

Happy Monday,
Well Bike Week in Myrtle Beach ended yesterday and there were a lot of GPS mounted on the windshields of pickup trucks hauling motorcycles in all directions. Most had great weather and a great time but there are always some that don’t make out so well. On a more positive note The GPS Store fishing team did manage to enter a 1610939_894266920617276_5718286999426888967_n in the Far Out Shoot Out but it was total of three species so we didn’t score on the board. Good weekend for Scott, Jamie, Brian and Ringer Rick Smith great weather and calm seas to fish in. Our Bosses were busy this weekend as well Drew and his band mates from BailOut were playing at Sharkeys and Gina was of course the # 1 fan in the audience. Gina was up and doing a 5k with Andrew their oldest son for charity early the next morning. These people have so much energy, but then again they are young. Summer will be in full swing here over the Memorial Day weekend so for those of you travelling please be sure to plan, pack and travel safely.

Things at the beach

Good Morning,
Well this will be a very busy week here in the Myrtle Beach area. Bike week is in full swing and thousands of bikers are here with family and friends. It is really a great thing to see the patriotism that exists in the motorcycle community. I hope they all ride safely and enjoy our weather and scenery. A little north here in Ocean Isle Beach we have the Far Out Shoot Out fishing tournament and Scott, Jamie and Brian are entered in The GPS Store boat. With the Far Out Shoot Out our favorite band BailOut 2Big2Fail will be playing at Sharkeys in Ocean isle Beach Friday evening. It is going to be a great weekend here and we hope a safe one. About 4:00 P.M. all work will stop and fishing will be the talk of the office. Look for us with the winner’s trophy on Monday.

Spring Day

Good Morning,
We in Ocean Isle Beach, NC are now officially in late spring. It is bike week in Myrtle Beach so driving has a tremendous amount of bike traffic to contend with. We always have to be careful of a biker entering or leaving the highway as most are tourists and would rather make a sharp turn than go by and come back to their destination. Of course we see some bikers come into the store with their Zumo’s either for help in how to update them or just to discuss features, which is part of the customer service we provide if you purchase it here. we stock the Zumo line and accessories for it in our store so it is easy for you to come in and pick up what you need. For the fishermen reading this here is a link to Garmin’s Blog and Casey Scanlon with some tips for fishing crank baits. Have a great day and i will be back with you tomorrow.

Starting Over

Hi Everyone,
Well it is Monday and back to work. Suffered through a direct hit from Tropical Storm Ava Sunday, so we were limited as to what we could do for Mother’s Day but I was able to fill my wife’s car up last evening so she didn’t have to go out in the rain. I hope all the mothers around the world had a great day with their loved ones. Well we are off to another busy week with some more new combination units from Garmin the echoMap 74DV and 75DV The echoMap 74DV is available now and will be up on our website today. The expected date for the 75DV is June for our Canadian friends.

Hello Everyone,
I would like to thank all of you for being our customers, without so many loyal customers we would not be in business. Our store is not one that hides behind the internet and only takes orders based on price, we are real people with real knowledge of the products we sell. If we don’t know the answers immediately we know where to find them, and we will never lie to you because the answer may not be what you want to hear. Thank you for getting us to an 18th Anniversary Sale without your support online, at the boat shows, on the phone or in our store we would not have made it.

Half way today

Good Morning,
Just in case you haven’t noticed we are having a sale, and really have some great deals, not only on marine plotters and fishfinders but automotive units as well. If you have an RV and are considering an RV we have great pricing on the Garmin RV 760LMT which contains RV routing and information with lifetime map updates and traffic, so you have it all. I just read Garmin’s blog for yesterday and don’t think you want to know about mushroom hunting with a handheld GPS but just know that mushrooms grow under heavy tree cover and the Garmin handhelds work to locate and mark their location, so they should be able to help you locate remote areas of the forest and also get out.
